Fibromyalgia
Hello all, I have been lurking here for a couple of months but this is the first time I have posted. I have really learned so much! It's amazing. I am almost 5 weeks post op. and things are going faily well except for a few minor problems. I would like to know if there is any one in this group who has Fibromyalgia and if so, how did it affect your WLS or your WS in general? Also, I have felt hungry often since the first week. From what I have read this is not normal. Anyone else have this problem? I drink lots of water. 3 protein shakes a day and about 500 calories a day which is a total of about 800 calories a day. I have not really read anything about how many calories one is to consume after surgery.. I also wait an hour after I eat to consume liquids. Any advice would be appreiciated.
I am not an expert but on the main board I had read a few times, we need at least 1000 calories per day. I know if we dont get enough calories, our body thinks it is in starvation mode and that will prevent weight loss. I would call your nutritionist or Doctor's office and ask them what is a good number for you.
I find some days I am hungry or I think I am hungry and it is really because I am thirsty or just bored. If I am really hungry, I try to snack on protein bars to up my protein intake. I am so afraid of grazing, especially at work so I keep my water bottle full.
I am a grazer too. It' sure is a bad habit to break. I feel certain that I am really hungry though. I have been wondering
about something else too...Do most people need the skin removal surgery after weight loss? Is that basically a given or is it for only a minority of losers? I just hate the thought of going through any more pain.
