Question of the Day
Wow.. I guess this is a pretty easy question for me. My mom is the greatest influence in my life. Months before her high school graduation her father passed away. A year later she got pregnant with me, when she was told she'd never have children due to a medical condition.
My mom raised me, worked two sometimes three jobs and went to college partime. Growing up she always put me, my needs and wants before her own. When I was 15 she fell madly in love with the man I call dad and married shortly there after.
Within five years she lost two of her favorite nephews who were brothers, to horrific accidents. And pulled herself together in order to take care of my aunt.
One of those nephews had a newborn baby that she and my dad decided to raise as their own. Imagine, their youngest child was already 24 and now they were starting over!!
A year later, my dad went to the emergency room for a hemorraging nose. And was sent back to his pcp and then to a pulmonologist. To be diagonsed with non-small cell lung cancer, which is the fastest growing lung cancer, only weeks after their wedding anniversary.
My mom took FMLA to be with my dad. I've never seen someone stronger than her. My dad only lasted 43 days after he was diagnosed and every single one of those days my mom was there taking care of him and doing everything she could to make his last days happy.
It's been eight months since my dad died. And everyday my mom gets out of bed and tries to make life normal for my sister. And to me that takes a lot of courage and strength.
Sorry for being mushy.. but that's who has been the biggest influence in my life. There are not enough words to describe how much I love and adore my mom.

My Mom taught me Love, Patience and Strenght to go on no matter what comes your way.She raised three children basicly on her own. My father was an alcoholic, enough said.
My Granny was always there when I needed to escape. I also had two brothers. I believe she taught me the importance of a Granny. Because of her I think I am a good Granny, at least I try. She still watches over me. I know her spirit is with me to guide me through the tough times.
