Important info. for all who need or are looking into plastic surgery!
Hi every one!
I know I haven't posted in a while but I was as you all might know I was in Ft. Lauderdale for my appts. Anyways at the info. session I was at there, the topic of plastic recontructive surgery came up. There was a man that 8 members of his family had WLS and he was beginning his journey. Well he shared with us that all his family members went to the Shriners Hospital I guess for burn victims, and had the tummy tuck for pennies on the dollar because you donate that skin to the burn victims! So maybe if you look into this alittle more you can probably have the excess skin removed and donate it for a great cause at a low or next to nothing cost!
Just thought I had to share with everyone! Good luck to everyone on that side of this fence, hope I'll be looking for the Shriners someday soon!

Hi Amy,
Well it went good/bad I went to all of my appts. except for the cardio becuase the appts. were set too close to eachother and the pulmonologist kept me too long But I was already cleared from the pulmo. and I didn't need a sleep study! The Dr. and his wife are extraordinary people, very knowledgeable and very understanding. Very good bedside manners and his wife is sooo full of energy she should have an energy drink named after her! Thank God for them both and God Bless. I got back late yesterday. Thanks guys for all your positive thoughts.
Johanna
PS- How are you doing in your journey, have any new #'s you can share?
Johanna,
I wont weigh in again until mid July and based on the messages from the main board, most said to NOT buy a scale so I wont. I guess too many became addicted to the scale and freaked out if there was any movement in the wrong direction, so I'm gonna wait until my next follow up appt. and I will let you all know how things are going.
I moved to the next phase of my diet and have had some struggles with food. I have also found out that I am now lactose intolerant so the protein shakes I was making were making me sick and gassy all day. I switched to vanilla and chocolate soy milk in my shakes and I feel so much better. I am anxious to move to solids but also scared about what will stay down and what wont.
I went back to work on Wed and have had a hard time with fatigue in the afternoons, I was so used to my naps. I could have stayed out another week, but I was going nuts sitting here all day. I called my HR dept and told them I was coming back early.
Do you work M-F during the day? If not, I was thinking maybe we could meet when I come up for my next appt. I heard about a new restaurant in the historic district there called Felix's that is supposed to be really good, they serve all kinds of foods in whole or half portions (perfect for WLS). Let me know if you might be able to get together. I'll know my appt date next week, their computers were down yesterday.
Take care and I hope to talk to you soon.
Amy
