Well, I'm a new member and am looking forward to the road ahead but I've think I've already hit a HUGE bump in the road...my updated certificate of insurance. I have Humana HMO. I've just compared my original Cert with the new one and noticed that the language granting coverage for WLS if medically necessary is no longer there. In fact, it now states that, "no procedure for the reduction of obesity, including surgerical procedures" are excluded!!! Am I dead in the water on my first day of the journey? Has anyone been covered by Humana HMO this year?

I have Humana Gold Plus/ Classic and they approved me in just hours. There is mention is my 2004 benefits book about not covering WLS, but if it is deemed medically necessary by your PCP, it is covered. Mine covered 100% of what medicare would have covered and that is alot I heard. Call the benefits number for Humana and ask them. i worried myself stupid over what turned out to be the fastest hurdle so far. Blessings! ~Tina~
