Marla, Thanks for posting this info. I am having my insurance get me a referral on Monday. I'm in Ft. Myers where Nancy is....guess I will be going there for the next seminar. I can't find a soul down here in So west Florida to do this surgery through my insurance and it seems Murr has been getting lots of practice and hopefully by the time he gets to me...well you get the picture.

I seem to have done this all backwards. I contacted Dr. Murr's office (on a Thursday) and got Susan. She advised that I send an email directly to Dr. Murr about my situation and he would respond. I had a JIB in the early 70's and need it to be taken down as I am down to 1 kideny and having problems with the other. He answered and had her give me an appointment the following week(Monday). I say Jose and The Doctor. Both very informative and helpful. They then sent me to Spectra. Three days later (one week from my call to Susan) I was at Spectra, no paperwork, no information, nothing, not even knowing the price. That was 3 weeks ago. Spectra did their thing and put me down for another appointment. That will be next Tuesday. They also required me to go to the Thursday things. I did. It was very good... I plan to continue. Thursday Susan inquired what was going on and I told her the Spectra 2nd appointment. She told me to call Spectra and tell them to send my file along for approval and a date as I don't have time to loose. I will do that on Monday, and keep my appointment with Grace ( I need this), then with Perry (I think he is the tie up, when he found out I had never in my life seen a Phycologist (sp) he put me on his loon list or something....well anyway, I think the ball should start moving...but now have to go until August because of everyone's vacations, I'm sure. This kidney thing is consting my insurance comany about $5000.00 a month just to keep me going...I must have a stent replaced in my kidney (throught my back, between my 11 and 12 rubs, and then throught my kidney) every 6 weeks or so. The revision (re-hooking) should stop the hyperoxeleria (sp again) and should calm my only kidney down. To say that I am in a hurry is understated...but I also have the dread factor which wants this thing to take forever! So here I sit, waiting for something to go on...I will keep in touch. I also plan to attent the "special" seminar that Grace is having on the 27th at Spectra as I think I need all the information I can get my hands on.

Perry "sentenced" me to therapy before he would consider sending my file to Dr. Murr. I have completed 3 months of therapy and my counselor is sending her recommendation to him this week. From what I have heard, it's very common for him to want the patient to go through therapy first. I kicked and screamed on that one, but in the end, it's best. I hope everything goes well for you!
