Please answer my question!

I have United Health Care HMO Select Plan. I am wondering if anyone out there has had any plastic surgery approved through UHC and if it was difficult and what you had to do?? They were great with the WLS but have since added an exclusion to the surgery effective this past January.Thanks in advance for responing to my post. Kathy Miller

Kathy, all I have read is that having plastic surgery approved by any insurance company is tough as can be. Now, if you go to the main message board and find Tooter Toot and ask her what she did to get approved, perhaps that will help you. She took up close and personal pictures of the rashes and skin problems she had for one thing. The plastic surgeon that was on this board a week or so ago said he isn't even contracted with ANY insurance company because it's sooooooooo difficult to get approved. With him, it's cash or bust. I bet that's not what you wanted to hear, but as far as I know, it's the truth. Pre-Op Jan
