Outing June 12th
Just my two cents here...
The clubhouse idea is great too, although often times they want a deposit. I think we will be hard pressed to find 20 seats available on a Saturday at a bookstore. Having said that maybe, we could make reservations for 20 at a restaurant, like Olive Garden or Chili's. We need to figure out times, I just worry that the 1130-230pm time frame will be difficult at any chain restaurant on the weekend without a reservation. I know the Panera near me has a meeting room, I can call them and find out what is involved in reserving that, if you all are interested. It is located in Lake Mary (15 min north of downtown), less 1/2 mile from I-4. They aren't expensive and it's casual and has a nice view.

Hey y'all!!
I wish I could be there with you all on the 12th. However I will be in Nevada preparing for my niece's third birthday and meeting my new baby nephew for the first time.
However I will add my two cents in. Has anyone thought about meeting at a mall. You all could use the food court, there is no seating limit, no fee to use the seats and you have from like 9am to 9pm?? I know a Tampa support group has met at a mall a few times for their meetings.

Very good idea about the mall. I know there are a couple good ones in Orlando. Just been awhile since I was out that way shopping, now that Tampa has more places. Anyone else like the idea? The matter about family I think if you are counting on them to do the driving that should be fine. I think the no family was mainly to allow us to get to know each other first without worry of where the children are or them wanting to leave early.
My vote is

Hi Marla!
Very new to this website; as of today. Am at the beginning stages of the surgery. Will be attending orientation at Florida Hospital Celebration on Wednesday. But I see you are having some sort of gathering. Well I manage a condo community and I can see if our clubhouse would be available on the 12th; it can hold 75 people.
Let me know what you think. Good to see this support system. Don't feel so alone now in my quest.
Sherie
Sherie,
Too funny, we are very close! I live in Danbury Mill subdivision. Yup, surgery is fast approaching, I am going thru bouts of anxiety and excitement these days, on top of trying to get the house organized and tying up loose ends at work. My mind is a million places these days
Calgon, take me away....

Welcome Sherie to AMOS. You are never alone. We are always here with you. I am so happy you joined our group. I know you will find understanding, caring, love and and a shoulder to cry on within our group.
Where is your condos located? Would there be a fee? Not sure what the group would want to do. I will put it to the group and see what they say.
Again welcome to AMOS.
