6 month diet!

I am so mad I could spit fire right now! I am now under the care of a new PCP, whom I have been informed IS WLS friendly, HOWEVER, I have just started seeing him. I was previously under the care of the Health Dept in GA (I lived there before I moved to Jax). I called them to get them to write a letter about my supervised diet, since THEY had me on one for about a year (which didn't work). I faxed the info sheet from Dr. Overcash's office and was told it would be taken care of. I get a fax TODAY saying, we can't write your letter, you'll have to get your Dr. to do it. AHHHHHHHH Any suggestions??

Have your new doctor request a copy of your file from the other doctor and request they include diet plan inforomation. You will need this for the wls.

Thanks Martha, I've requested the records be sent. I'm just hoping they sent everything, including notes.

i havent had any diet history with my doctor. will that change things when i go to talk to him about getting the surgery?

I don't know Jennifer, I am in the same boat. I have diet history, but not with this new Dr. So that's why I have done what was suggested and had my med records sent to him and PRAYING they sent EVERYTHING! I have to go back to him in the next couple of days, so I've decided to talk to him about it then. I have everything else done for the ins company except my PCP letter.

Hi Kim, Yes, have your doctor send/fax a form to them requesting ALL of your medical records be transferred. That should take care of the problem, as all their documentation will be there. Good luck! Sheila
