FILL DOCTOR

Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there mught help me find a fill doctor in Tampa or Orlando. I have a firend you had surgery in Mexico and is really in need for a fill but can't find a doctor close by. The one she had planned on charges 1000 dlls and is a little far away. When the lap band is placed it is placed empty. After 4-6 weeks ( aprox) the band can be adjusted to make the opening smaller and this allows less food to go through the band and makes the person feel full faster. This adjustment to the band are called fills because they fill the band with a saline solution to make the opening smaller. It is one of the advantages of the lap band, it can be adjusted according to each person's needs. Doctor's in Mexico usually do it for free or for a very low price but my friend can't take the time now to get back there. Surgeons who place the band do the fills it's just that not all of them want to help out other doctor's patients. If anyone can help us find one in these 2 cities I'd really appreciate it.... Nina, Has she looked at the list of surgeons in Tampa or Orlando that are listed here under Florida? I know the doctors I had seen when researching surgery all perform lap band, but I can't tell you the costs involved in a fill. I would suggest she make some calls to the doctors listed here, they can help her out. US Bariatrics has an office in Kissimmee near Disney and there are quite a few doctors in the Tampa area. Dr Jawad in Ocala and Dr Grossbard in Zepherhills may be able to assist you. I don't know if they perform fills on patients they didn't band or not, but it is a start.
