I see the many responces about which doctor would be best and just wanted to throw another surgeons name out there....Dr. Abbas Shariat in Jax beach...he is doing my VBG on 4.6.04 but he also does the Rny and banding if insurance pays. I know he takes UHC but not sure what other types of insurance. he is excellant. And a sweetheart of a man..after my first visit I knew I would trust my life to him! If you are interested, look him up! He is great!

I'm so glad I made this post because of all the great replies I have gotten! This is a new journey for me and hopefully if everything goes well, with no major bumps along the way, the beginning of a new life! I thank all of you for all the responses because it helps me learn so much. It's nice to know people actually DO respond. I've been reading the profiles like crazy, taking in all the info I can, and I've emailed some people only to get nothing back, with a couple of exceptions.

Hey Kim, I know the feeling! At first some of the people I sent msgs to did not respond but then all of a sudden, I was getting emails back with the warmest of thoughts and prayers. Continue to send those emails, you never know who is needing or looking for a friend to share this journey with them. I know for me, when I write, I am hoping not only to get information, but to find a friend. This is new for most people and its always nice to have someone that you can shoot a msg out to, or give a call to, if the need arises. I try to give my email address and aol screen name so that there are other ways to get ahold of me besides replying to the board and I have been lucky so far to find one really great online friend that I not only post to, email or msg but we also talk on the phone (Thanks Kim J for being there!)
