I'm freaking myself out. I'm having tenderness in my calves and my discharge paperwork says to notify the office. I caled at 10 am, then again around 1pm......it's 2:13pm and havent gotten a call back. Has anyone had any scares with possible blood clots?? Has anyone gotten any surgical stockings or anything to help......I'm thinking of getting the leg thingy's. I've been walking my ass off.......I haven't sat for much more than 1 hour and I'm up taking a walk around the house. I dont know what else I can do? I'm worried

Hi Carol, I really dont have an answer to your question, I am pre-op but I have worked for several doctors. All I can say is call again, the staff should be aware of what to look for in most cases if they deal strictly with WLS. Just call and if by chance you do not get in touch with them prior to the office closing, there is always an on-call doctor that will call you directly once you tell his answering service what is going on. That way you will get to talk to the doctor directly. Let us know what is said. **hugs** Im sure things will be allright. Kim

Dear Carol, I hope that everything worked out okay. It's a hard line to know when to be concerned and when not to worry. Who did your surgery? Where did you have it? I am scheduled for May 1st with the Wish Center in Tampa. I would of gone local,(I live in Hudson) but I have to have and intestinal bypass reversed (which is quite a serious surgery) and the RNY. I was advised to get the most experienced Dr. possible. That is why I'm going to the Wish Center. I am concerned if your Dr. office didn't call you when you need them. Did it work out? Did they call you back? Cindy

Well, Dr's ofc did call back about 5 hrs later. I guess if they thought it was an emergency they would have called back sooner. I was asked a bunch of questions and no other signs of a blood clot, so they think it may just be from sleeping in the recliner and having my calves resting on the hard foot rest. They stressed WALK WALK and WALK more, which I am doing. I wrapped my legs in ace bandages to help with circulation, since I couldnt find surg socks big enough. Even the medical supply in the area didnt have big sizes,,,,,,,,,,man i hate that. Thanks for the helps guys. I think my nerves are shot and every little thing is scaring and upsetting me. I cry at the drop of a hat.
