surgery scheduled

 Hi, I am having the gastric sleeve on 1/7/10 and am getting nervous.  I trust my surgeon but still it is surgery.
I want this to work so bad.  I have been "fat" all my life and I am ready for something different.  Anyone had this surgery?  Any problems?
I know 3 who have had it and have lost 40 - 50 lbs in 10 weeks.  I went to a support group in my area and most had the RNY and have done well.  2 have gained a lot of weight back.  When I asked my surgeon about this he said it took a lot of work to gain it back.
This is something I do not want to do.  Any words of wisdom?

  Check out the VSG board; you'll get a lot of responses from post-op patients.  I find that board super helpful and it gets posted on a lot more often.  I'm way up in the panhandle of Florida and my surgery is scheduled for the 13th.  Good luck to you!!
