Breathing Tube Question

Hi Everyone I was told that the tube will be left in for the 3 days Im in the hospital and on the 3rd day they do an xray before it comes out. Why wouldnt that come out in the recovery room. Thanks Renee

Talk to your doctor. I believe that the tube that will be in after you wake up is an NG tube (Nasal-Gatric tube) It is used to suck up the gastric juices you body is still creating so your new and improved stomache has time to heal. Respirators (Breathing tubes) are not usually left in. But PLEASE check with your doctor. He/She or the nurses will know. Kathy
