Visiting in Ft. Lauderdale

I'll be visiting and staying in Ft. Lauderdale from Thursday evening until Monday evening (12-10 thru 12-14). Does anyone have suggestions on events, activities, etc? I'm visiting my father in a hospital and I really don't want to stay in a hotel room when I'm not seeing him. Please send me a message!
