Oh God, no!!!

Oh please no!!! I just went to the hospital billing department to get an itemized bill b/c I have an account balance of over $137K!!! The worst thing is IT DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE THE SURGEON'S FEE. How can this happen, how?! Ok I'm trying to calm down, but It's really hard to see the silver lining now. I figured I may get a bill from the anesthesiologist, but this is insane--no wonder my insurance co. won't pay. I am pretty much at a loss here. I'm thinking I can report the hospital to the state regulatory agency--it seems unethical to bill so much and screw people's insurance. Has anyone had any similar problems or does anyone have ideas? What were your liabilities like?

Julie, I work for a doctor, the bill you have can and will be adjusted by your insurance. they have an allowable rate for everything. if you are selfpay you can also neg. your bill. melinda lap rny 10/17/03 -78lbs
