Duodenal Switch peers in FLorida?

I would love to talk to other DS folks here in FLorida. I am 3 months out from my surgery. Doing great. Please share your experience with me.

WHERE DID YOU HAVE THIS SURGERY AND IS IT BETTER THAN THE BYPASS????? I AM THINKING REAL HARD ON HAVING TH BYPASS.. CJV

I know this is an old post, but I'm going to respond anyway. Yes, there are Duodenal Switch folks in Florida. We're actually trying to set up a support group that will meet somewhere in the central part of the state -- probably near Tampa. Melanie Magruder, the founder of duodenalswitch.com, lives in Florida, as do many other DSers, me included. Melanie is coordinating the first support group meeting. I believe there are also a number of DSers in Jacksonville, and they may have their own group already. Write to me if you need more info. None of the details are firm yet, but I'll try to keep you in the loop. BTW, I'm one year post-op and doing great. I'm about 15 pounds from goal, lots of energy, perfect blood work, and able to eat anything I want. No problems or side effects at this point. I love life, and I love the DS!
