Desperately seeking maintenance doctor close to Orlando

I had my lap band surgery done at Baylor University Medical Center by Dr. Joseph Kuhn in Dallas, TX, and have had an impossibly hard time finding a doctor in the Orlando area to take me as a maintenance patient since moving here in November 2007. I've been going to a doctor in Gainesville, but have had 2 incidents of him filling the band too tight, resulting in extra trips to Gainesville, which is not convenient. Please, if anyone can help, please advise.

Doesn't the band manufacturer have a list of providers on their website? You might want to check with Dr. Kim's office at Celebration Health.

My problem is finding someone who will take me as maintenance, and Dr. Kim out in Celebration will not take me as maintenance. So much talk about the surgery's 'newness' in the Orlando area, only a handful of surgeons at reputable hospitals.

Dr. Beltre wants $500 for my first visit and $100 thereafter b/c he doesn't take insurance. Also, Dr. Mareme's office will require me to take a $600 nutrition class ONE YEAR out of surgery; he's mad!

Yep.. my sis called today, and was told the same thing. And she could be looking at $7,000 out of pocket for revision.

with regard to Marema, my sis was told that the 600 would cover not only the nutrition course, but some after care visits.. i told her to get me the details. I'll let you know!

Hi, I'm having surgery in Orlando it's going to be Celebration hospital. Dr wiljon Beltre is going to be my Dr his number is 1-407-830-6868 I also know that Dr Robert Marema is going to see after surgery people at Celebration Hospital soon. You might want to call to see when he will start doing that. Good Luck with that sounds like a bummer to have that going on.

I am near orlando and I travel to Kathy Gonzalez in St. Pete.... She is awesome with all the post care needs. been going to her for like 2 years now. she is awesome!!!! she is with fill centers...

Thanks for this advice, but Fill Centers wants $350 whether you have insurance or not - will be driving to Gainesville for a while, but thank God, I'm a year out and 80 pounds down, so I'm not having to go as often as when I first got banded.
