Is a floroscope necessary for fills

Hello everyone,

I was banded in Mexico on April 19th, 2008.  I am looking forward to my first fill because I have no restriction what so ever.  I am hungry all the time and can eat just about anything.  I have lost 25 lbs but went on vacation and gained a little back.  The Dr. had to put a larger band on me because of my BMI, which brings me to my question....I found a place in Tampa and it is 250.00 for the first visit and 75.00 for the floroscope....is the floroscope necessary when doing a fill?

Have you posted this on the band board?  I'll bet those folks will have lots of good information for you.

Hello,

If the doctor doing the fill (especially the first time) didn't place your band, then flouro s the most prudent course of action. Flouro will give the new doc a complete picture (literally) of how te band was placed, how it is sitting, and other details. Flouro is also used when there might be a port issue ad te doc needs confirmation of a flip, etc.

I hope this helps.
