AVMED! Questions!

Did it pay the WLS?  How much out of pocket did you have to pay? Wich AVMED?

I have State of Florida Avmed - Open Access.  All I am going to have to pay is $250.00 to the hospital, $25.00 for each doctor visit.  They took 7 days to approve my surgery.  I had already done the 6 months dr. documented diets, blood work, pshy evaluation.  Things seem to be moving along quite nicely.  My surgery is 3/17/08.  Lynne

I also have Avmed open access, they paid for RNY, I paid $250.00 hospital co-pay and $25.00 for each doc visit. even for the NUT and Phsyco evaluation.

I have Avmed (not sure which plan/type) through my wife's job (AT&T) and they said they don't cover any WLS.  They said they were going to send a pamphlet on Weigh****chers and if I completed it and kept the weight off they'd reimburse me! LOL   So I'm now looking at paying myself and getting the VSG surgery.  Guess I should've taken the RNY for free with United Healthcare 2 years ago!   Oh well, I had chickened out.
