OT: Visiting Hollywood and wanting ideas please

Hiya FL board! I'm coming to Hollywood for a work thing my hubby has to do(a working reward of meetings and golf or something) and wanted to know what there is to do besides go to the spa.  We will be at the Westin Diplomat which from what I can tell is very nice.  I just wondered about stuff to do away from the hotel. Thanks!!

Not sure how far it is from you, but defiantly visit Las Olas. It's a great place to just walk around at night for clubs and entertainment. gl

I live in the Heart of hollywood. DOwntown hollywood, young circle has alot to offer. The beaches are really close too!

Love to suggest going to THE FLORIDIAN for a nice breakfast brunch on the weekend if you'll be there. It's a wonderful dive in the heart of las olas (ft lauderdale) There there's Riverwalk in Ft lauderdale, SOUTH BEACH in miami beach (45 min drive) - try visiting Bongo's cuban cafe - home of Gloria and Emilio Estefan.  There's Vizcaya the john deering estate - absolutely beautiful, the miami metro zoo, parrot island,  oh and for shopping I'd love to suggest SAWGRASS MILLs - it's a great outlet center - massive, if I do say so myself.  Beaches, and more beaches - you can even take a casino day cruise to bimini - bring your passport.  There are everglade airboat rides - the miccosuki indian reservation and casino OMG OMG OMG as I type this - there's the HARDROCK Casino resort - awesome place for nightlife too - there are about 20 different bars/clubs on the compound - shopping, shows (tomorrow night is Carlos Mencia - not sure if it's sold out) If you're bored you can drive down to Key Largo and go snorkeling I hope this helps! Hubby's company cancelled the reward trip...they didn't want protesters or the press there.  He works for Countrywide and there was supposedly rumors that the press found out about the trip and with all the problems Countrywide was afraid of more bad press...then two days after canceling they were being bought out by Bank of America.  So, bottom line is all the employees who worked hard all year to win this trip get nothing because of loans made 4 years ago by other people. Thanks anyway!!!  WIsh we were still going...maybe next time.
