I live in the Pensacola area. I am considering the lap band proceedure. This proceedure would be a self pay, however, I think that I should still have some health ins. so that if any of the tests were to pop positive it would not devestate us financially. I have tried with BCBS of Florida and they flat out declined my application strickly due to my weight. Anyone have ideas or suggestions for accquiring insurance?

I have to agree, insurance can be difficult but there are employers out there (if changing employers is an option) that will provide you with insurance from day 1 that will pay for it.  I changed employers specifically for my gastric bypass surgery and 3 months after changing I was starting the process with my surgeon.
