MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

This is the list I got from Medipass of doctors on their network for Bariatric surgery... This is only a list for the Miami area.  I will paste a copy here:

BARIATRIC SURGEONS (GASTRIC BYPASS)

Dr Jorge Luis Sosa and Juan Fleites accepts Medicaid (with the following manage care HMO or Medipass) and they both do gastric bypass surgeries and the lap band surgeries. Dr Nelson de la Cruz Munoz does not accept Medicaid and the client will be responsible for his fees, however he uses Medicaid for the hospital fees and he also does the lapband surgery.

Hope this helps anyone who had questions about doctors that take Medicaid here in Miami. I am going to try to get one for Broward county as well. Will update if they send it to me.

Okay so I was curious about Dr. Fleites and I called his office and was told he does not accept Medicaid for Bariatric surgery... Go figure!!!! So I guess the ONLY one is Dr. Jorge Sosa and his partner Dr. Valladares.

Here is the surgeon list for Broward county. According to the list they are not accepting new patients, but I would verify that with the doctor's office itself.

i have florida medicaid and i am 2 weeks post-op...... i have a hmo- molina for medicaid and i went to the ONLY surgeon in the medicaid hmo network......  who does this surgery.

Ok I've read thru the blog and from what I can understand is that as of 2010, there is only bariatric surgeons in miami and ocala? Does anyone know of surgeons' accepting straight medicaid?

Hi. Yes, I was working with Dr Friedman when I lost my insurance. They don't accept any for of medicaid or medicare

Hi.  Have you tried calling your local Medicaid office and asking them to send you a list of bariatric surgeons that accept medicaid?  That is what I did and I posted that list here.  Of course the list I posted is for Miami-Dade county and Broward county.
Calling Medicaid is probably your best bet to finding a surgeon in your area.

Hi everyone, i have Medicaid Share of cost. Anyone know if anyone in the orlando/ocala/gainesville area accepts medicaid for a revision?
