Have you had Lap Band surgery?

Hi, I'm a new member and after reading all of your comments, I found myself already feeling like I know some of you.  I am in the process of getting insurance approval for the Lap Band.  I have been to a couple of seminars offered by Dr. Rehnke and really like him and the staff I have met.  My question is, while I beleive I have made a very informed decision about wanting to move forward with Lap Band surgery, I would like to hear from anyone who has had this surgery.  I am a working mom and want to be able to bounce back quickly.    Any information you can provide would be really appreciated.  (I get really excited just thinking of being thin one day!!!!!)

 

You will definitely bounce back quickly. I took a week off from work and everything went fine. You are up and moving the same day and after about 3 days I was practically back to normal (no pain) except for the liquid diet. Good luck to you.

Thank you so much for the information, Celeste.  I'm hoping to hear from the insurance company by next week.   Having just been banded, what would you say is the hardest part.  I hear alot of people say its the liquid diet.     Also, were you only in the hospital for day surgery or overnight or longer.  The surgeon I'm considering suggests either day surgery or overnight, depending on the time your surgery is scheduled.  Seems really quick.
