just a touch upset

I talked with my counselor Tuesday morning. I had called her Monday to see if she had heard anything yet,as far as my approval. JUst got her voice mail. SHe called me next morning,told me I was going to be upset with her. Come to find out,she had not sent my file to the main office yet. Was suppose to do this 2 weeks ago. She said she was sorry,but she had a couple of conferances she went to,as she doesn't get to go very often,and they are swamped at her office. I told her as soon as I was able to work,I was going to apply for a job in her office to help her. She told me it wouldn't do any good if there was no position.

I jsudon't know what to do. I know there will be set backs,and this is minor,but it is still very upsetting.

I can feel your disappointment.  I was so afraid that would happed to me.  Just pray that she will expedite your paperwork now that she knows it's her fault.  Call your insurance company in a couple of days and check to see if they have everything and if there is anything you can do on your end.  I did that and found out that I'd been approved before the office knew.  Who is your doctor by the way?  Good luck and keep us posted.   Linda

Yeah, I feel you. Thank goodness you called to see if she had heard anything!! I hope your story ends up like mine....I had my appointment with the surgeon on May 16th. Was told by the coordinator that since we'd done everything else before had, the request/approval packet should be all faxed out by that Friday morning, the 18th. I called her back Friday May25th. Left a message. She calls me back Tuesday May29th or 30th. She just sent it out that Thursday the 24th. OMG...I was a bit mad. Why would she have sat on it?! So, the very next day of May 30th on a Wed after being upset with her....she leaves four or fives voicemails in a span of several hours. I knew she wouldn't call five times to tell me I'd been denied. I called her back.  I was approved!!! Then she followed up with "how does surgery this Tuesday June 4th sound?!" Surgery within a week of my approval because someone had canceled. I got my approval within a day of finding out she'd only sent my paperwork out two or three business days beforehand. I hope it can go that smoothly for you too.

I will be having my surgery done at North Florida Regional in Gainesville,by Dr. Timothy Hipp, when I finally get approved.

Oh, sweet! You're going to be in Gainesville! Well, let me know when you're surgery is and maybe I can pop in on ya!  I had mine done at Shands with Dr. Cendan.  From here on out I'd just call her every few days.
