At 1:05 AM I posted to this forum a message under the headline: "Just out! Newly revised "HEALTHY HEART" manual for women!" Later today I got an alert about someone posting a message suggesting/implying you can get the same government publication for free at an alternative website and that the $4.00 I quoted was going to me. WRONG! Go ahead and click on this NIH website and see for yourself - http://emall.nhlbihin.net/product2.asp?sku=07-2720 Click on the above website and you'll see the manual and the GOVERNMENT'S charge for the publication. I did have a typo in the listing of the website, I typed "email" instead of emall - as in Mall of America. Sorry for any confusion. Hope this post doesn't mysteriously disappear, too... Lauralyn

My post did not imply it was the same report. I posted the title of the article. It was on the same topic so I thought those interested in the article you posted might be interested in the other one as well. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused but there was no devious intention, and I might add I am a little upset that you would imply such a thing. I have been posting on OH for a long time and to be accused of something like this breaks my heart. I get regular emails from Go Red for Women and the article I posted was mentioned in conjunction with the new Heart Health Guidelines for women. My Mother died of heart disease so it is a topic that is of interest to me. Red

Please accept my apology, Red. Your post may have had an unintended consequence - you didn't mean to suggest what I wrote, but someone with the authority to do so deleted my post from almost every forum I posted it on. I tried to respond to you, but apparently your link was deleted along with my post! So I felt the only way to express myself on this censorship was to go public. You and I are both trying to make important information available to our brothers and sisters here at OH. Faithfully, Lauralyn

It is ok. I understand. Heart Health for Women has long been a subject that was just swept under the rug. However, heart attacks and strokes in women are on the rise. I urge anyone who is interested in this topic to register with the GO RED FOR WOMEN website to get valuable information. And while you are there you can register to recieve a free Red Dress Pin, the national symbol for Women's Heart Health. The site is sponsored by the American Heart Association. Red

I used the link and found that you don't have to purchase the publication at all. It's a PDF that you can save and print yourself (or just read from your computer monitor). Your previous message probably disappeared because OH doesn't allow anyone to post messages that advertise products for sale.

Nothing in my post was for sale by me. :uhoh: For all I know, even the government charge of $4.00 is simply to cover shipping & handling a "hard" copy. The May magazine I refer to is a "freebie" comes out monthly in Atlanta and is generally found in larger Southeastern markets. The workshops I'll be leading in Greeley, Colorado are free - I'm not getting paid to do them nor is there a charge for them. They are, however, part of a weekend conference for which there is a general admission fee. Why censor that? It's all about sharing useful FREE information? :eyes: Lauralyn

It doesn't matter if you profit from the sales or not. I was just telling you why they deleted your message.
