Oh My God...Are You Kidding Me?!?!

Yesterday when released from the Hospital, I was given a Script for "Pre-natal Vitamins" (chewable) So my Son dropped off the Script for me, then called me and said, they had to order them, and they would have them in the Morning, no problem. So I call CVS this Morning, asked if they had my Script, "yes we do you can come anytime to pick it up" Great. So I go pick it up, come home open it, and Chew away...Holy Mother of God!!! They gave me the Wrong Ones!!! Not the Chewables...Do you have any idea what these things taste like? Well let me tell you, they taste like Old Rotten Dead Fish...So now I have this taste in my mouth, nose, every time I Burp, there it is!!! Well I wasn't Puking to bad before this, but I'm Puking at a pretty good clip now. And the taste isn't going away! Probably some intern at CVS filled it. I called and just Snapped on the Pharmacist. I mean he was very apologetic, but the fact remains the same, I got the Wrong S!#T, and my Breath smells like a Bag of Old Fish Scales!!!

thats stinks.... I am shocked you could take them at all... they would stay in your tummy for a long time...sip some chicken broth it might help..

Whew,,,I know that had to be bad,,,I was told to chew flinstones chewables 2x a day. So far my labs are good, but even those some days have a monkeybut taste that yuks my mouth up....good luck tho and hang in there!!!!

Rock, Look out for the Seagulls when you go walking, I couldn't resist, ROFLMAO. Did Dr.R prescribe the Precare or Duet. I like the Duet as their a softer chewable and have a orangy taste. I take them at bedtime thus giving them alittle longer to absorb because your sleeping & not drinking which flushes everything faster. Check your meds for now on before you leave the Pill Quacks counter. Mike

Hey Rocko! I'm glad that they didn'tfill it with someting that you were allergic to! Try to drink a protein drink to mask the taste (if doc says it's okay). Repeated vomiting at this stage is ill advised. I hope that you feel better!! Kristen

The sounds like just my luck. The Duet has a substance called DHA in them. Docosahexaenoic acid is the name for it. The oil is actually made out of fish for fetal brain health. So you are right when you say they taste like dead fish. Hope the taste goes away soon! Tricia

Hey Rocko - Parsley!!!! Good old Calabrese mouthwash! Just chew on a few sprigs and spit them out after it becomes a mushy mess. Then rinse your mouth with warm sal****er and spit that out. If that doesn't help - go wrap the CVS tech in newspaper and send him on his way - if you know what I mean!!!! Man that sucks big time! Other than CVS trying to poison you - how's life? RE: the GALLON of water - that is what you'll be working up to!!!! Right now you're lucky if you will finish off one bottle let alone 2....take it easy, man! How about food - how's that going? I am so sorry, that really stinks! I would have given them an ear full as well. However, I am curious as to why your doc has you on pre-natal vits. If you have another reason for the specific vits, them just ignore me. But, lapBanders only need regular vits after surgery. Most of us take centrum, flintstones or viactiv multi vitamins. That should be sufficient. I don't think I have ever seen you on the LapBand board. Stop by and check it out sometime. You will find lots of good into there fore lapbanders.
