HI Im new to all this; I had my surgery RNY 10/26/06 at Duke WLS by Dr DeMaria. I live in Sarasota County and would like to know if there is a support group near here?

Hi sewnlady Try calling 941-745-7245 Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. Thats not to far from Sarasota. I now they have a support group but I dont know the details.

Hi! I live in Bradenton -- a couple of miles from Sarasota. They do have a support group at the Manatee Memorial Hospital on Monday, Dec. 18 @ 6pm. Call (941)745-7245 and talk to Michelle Adams...she can lead you in the right direction, o.k. Hope this helps! Holly (Bradenton)

Thanks Holly, but I must get something closer as I am in Sarasota County below Sarasota. I was hoping like Venice or Sarasota. but if there is nothing closer this will be Ok too and thank you again for your quick reply. I wont be able to attend any meeting until January. Sewnlady

am not sure exactly where you are becaause i'm new also... anyway there is a support group in port charlotte that meets 2 and 4th wed of the month at the women's center - lots of old timers and me a newbie!
