Surgery Scheduled!!!

Even though my insurance company denied approval for my lapband, I am going ahead with it anyway. I will appeal it but continue on the path I know was made for me. I am being banded on 11/20 at JFK Hospital. I can't wait!! I know it is a start for my new life and I am so confident that I will reach my goal!! Thank you all for the support you have given me in trying to decide what to do!! Maggi

Good Luck Maggi I did the same as you, I was tired of the insurance circus and paid for it myself. I'm two weeks post-op and feel great. You wont regret it Best wishes

Good luck with your surgery! Self pay has its share of pitfalls so be sure you're financially prepared in the unlikely event of a complication. But if you've decided it is what you need & want - go for it! I had RNY and it was the best decision I've ever made for myself and my health!
