Questions about Dr. Webb

I have posted on here before about Dr. Cywes and Dr Webb. I am still having problems getting in touch with Dr Cywes staff. So in the mean time I called Dr. Webb I was routed to another business a weightloss center. They do all the paperwork, phychiatric eval, nutrition etc. There fee is 1700.00 or so. They can not file insurance because they are not doctors. I guess I thought I would be going to a seminar and than contacting his office staff to have everything done. I was just wondering from the people who have used Dr webb if this program is mandatory or what and if anyone has a doctor who uses a program like this. Thanx

Hamida, its me again. The $1700 that the Laproscopie Surgery Center charges is, indeed, mandatory. You have to go thru their program in order to use Dr. Webb as your surgeon. That cost does cover all your fills and doctor appointments for one year. With Dr. C, the fee is $200. That covers the first 3 months of appointments and fills. After that, you pay your copay. Do I remember you went to the seminar for Dr. C already? If not, I will be there with a group of pre ops at the one to be held at Memorial on November 16th at 6:30. So, please, join us if you'd like. Getting thru to Dr. C's office is very difficult and very irritating. Don't go to 13 to get Karma. Try going to 0 and speaking to Hope. If all else fails, dial whatever number they give you for Irene Wolfe. She's the office manager and she needs to know how unhappy you are with the staff. And when you get in to see Dr. C, be sure he knows about the staff. Like I've told our support group, he has no idea what's going on out front so please tell him. Both surgeons are exceptional in their field. They do their fills different and have totally different scales that they weight you on. So, choose carefully. And if you'd like to talk to people who have been banded by either of these surgeons, please feel free to join us on the 3rd Saturday of this month for a support group meeting. La Wanda

I have been to Dr Cywes seminar. I think I am going to come to the next one because I do have some more questions so hopefully I will see you there. I think I will just go with Dr. Cywes because I just did not feel comfortable once I left the office especially since the lady kept pushing gastric bypass. I know that is a good surgery but I had already made the decision to have lap band. I will also attend one of the support group meetings also so I can talk to people who have had lap band. Hamida, Hey How are you? Still trying to make a decision I see. Take your time and go through all of your options. That is the best thing that you can do for yourself. I go to Lawanda's group and almost everyone there has either had lap band with Dr. C. or RNY or lap band with Dr. Webb. You can probably learn lots there. I hope to see you at a meeting real soon!
