Support groups in Florida panhandle: Are there any?

Hi! New to the board. I live in the Destin, FL area and am looking for a local support group. I am 3 years out on surgery. Have experienced weight gain and am looking to get my groove back on! Any help is greatly appreciated. :cool:

Hey Trish, I don't know if there is one in Destin, however, if you are able to get on the Military Base (Eglin AFB) they have one there that meets once a month, if not, the closes one will be in Pensacola. I believe it is through Baptist, but I am not positive. There will probably be others in the area that could answer that for you. Good Luck!! Beth

There is one in Panama City that meets the 1st Tue of each month! Sorry I don't know of any closer to you!

Where in Panama City? I have been looking for one here for awhile I did not think we had one here. Thanks for the info.

I would also like to know more about the support group in Panama City. Last time I had checked I was unable to find any information regarding anything in this area. I would love to become a participant in the group. Please post information regarding the location and times of meetings and a Point of Contact for the group if possible. Thanks Jerry

We have support group meetings in Pensacola monthly at Sacred Heart Hospital. They are currently the first Wednesday of the month, but Dr. Lord told me the other day they were changing to the first Tuesday of the month after first of year. That might be farther than you wanted to travel though. Surely there are some in your area. Good luck! Betty
