very weepy 2 weeks out
Carole,
This is a normal reaction.. you have just been thru major surgery. Your body is trying to adjust to the changes right now. All of your emotions are going to be felt much stronger and ofcourse, some minutes you'll be very happy and other minutes you'll be very sad.. It gets better...
I'd suggest getting your mind off of things..going to a movie, walking around the mall or around a park, talking with a friend...
Make sure you are following all of your doctor's orders and you'll be just fine!!

I just e mailed Kevin . It has takenme almost 1/2 this day to empty the dishwasher thats how little energy I have.
Larry called and asked if I was on xanax. I replied no and no pain meds either he said wow you sound wierd, I said that how bad I feel. But not bad enough to go back to that hospital.
Think Im bluesing cause I was the lowest weight loser in my group. As you know I have syndromex or hyperinsulinima too much insulin and yet Im diabetic. It was impossible for me to lose before surgery and Im so scared that its not going to work for me.
Thanks for listening to a very confused person right now. You are truly my angels.
Hugs
Carole
Let us know what Kevin says. You shouldn't have to go back to the hospital as long as you are drinking liquids and doing your protein drinks.
Even if you didn't have syndromex or hyperinsulinima you can't compare your weight loss to others. The surgery will work if you work your tool. You are still so early out that you don't need to stress over wether or not the surgery worked anyway. Throw away the scales.......you will lose the weight, and this time you have the right tools to keep it off. Slow and steady wins the race.....
Hii,
My name is jan and I'm a newby. My surgery will be on Nov. 16.(lapband) I have been on the optifast diet for 6 days and I am getting depressed. I am very tired and have a hard time climbing stairs, no energy. I have lost 6 lbs. I'm a teacher and making it through a work day is tough. I was wandering if other people felt like this. I feel better knowing I'm not alone w/ this zero energy grappy feeling.
Dr Aguila in Tampa is my surgeon.

Yes! I was the same way too. Everything seemed so impossible (enough protein, water). I thought I was doing everything wrong and only wanted to lie on the couch or sleep. Then I beat myself up about it which only made me feel worse. You will regulate soon and everything will fall into place. Just try your hardest, even if you fall a little short of what you should be doing at first. Make sure your potassium levels are good. Their is a brand of water called Smar****er that will help with that. Once my potassium was up I felt less sad. I promise you, that in time you will be thrilled with your new lifestyle. Push yourself to walk around the block. Sometimes just being outside for 10 minutes helps. The weather here in FL is so nice now. Try to focus on the simple pleasures, like the weather, birds singing, or even just getting through one more day. I hope to hear about your progress. My best wishes are with you. You WILL BE FINE. Love, Annette
