:HELP: Need to find Doctor for RNY in Jacksonville,FL area who is medicare approved

I have gone through all the motions and have gotten approved for surgery from the insurance;however, the hospital is NO LONGER on my plan. For some reason the Shands hospital in gainesville & Jax failed their inspection with medicare 3 months ago & no one contacted me from Doctor's office (how awful). I have 60 days to submitt an appeal. I am having a hard time finding someone who accepts medicare. My insurance is Humana Gold Choice (a medicare plan), so I must find a surgeon and hospital that is medicare approved. My insurance told me to call every hospital and surgeon to find one.. ridiculus!! If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

It's a bit far but we'll help you find one. There's Dr.Murr at Tampa General & I used Dr.Rehnke of the Palms of Pasadena but ended up at St. Pete General. But I'm sure we'll find a few closer to you. Just wait patiently now...... LOL.

Memorial Hospital does WLS surgery. There is a doctor's office for WLS behind the hopsital.. I am sure if you call Memorial they could tell you his name. (Also I will be in that area seeing my plastic surgeion tomorrow in that complex and I can send you the information after that.)

The dpctpr in Jax is Hosein Yasrebi 396-8000. The address is 3599-506 S University Blvd. It is right behind Memorial Hospital. Good luck.

Its a drive, however, my doc, Dr. Peter Henderson in Brunswick GA does RNY and the hospital is right across the street from his office. I believe they take medicare..good luck to you. I think Dr. Yasrabei makes you loose quite a bit of weight before he will do surgery. Heck, If we could loose weight we would not need the surgery!
