Update on my season of having my a$$ kicked as a fencer. Fenced a tournament today. Entry age was born 1/1/2004 or before. I have a child born 2003 and another born 1999 - so I was fencing kids the age of my own kids. Of 49 women fencing foil, I finished 37th. I was only shut out in one bout. I won one bout outright and had some other close bouts. The fencer who took me out in the elimination round is a college student who fences for Penn State and ultimately was knocked out by the woman who placed 3rd overall.

Monday - Fencing 3 hours

Tuesday - weights and Pilates

Wednesday - fencing 2.5 hours

Thursday - rest

Friday - weights and Pilates

Saturday - weights and agility

Sunday - rest

Hope everyone has a great week. I'm thrilled with how I did.

Keep on losing!

"Easy" is totally subjective. Personally I think any workout schedule involving spinning is hard :P

So, we've made it through the first week of the year - Yippee! It's blasting cold here in Philly and may get warmer by the end of the week, but we've been in the teens for about a week, which is unusual for us. Glad I do indoor workouts!

Sunday - Sang two services at church (about 3 hours on my feet, etc.) I usually burn as many calories as gentle yoga.

Monday - Fencing 2.5 hours - with a private lesson - tournament on Saturday.

Tuesday - 1 hour with my trainer

Wednesday - 2 hours fencing

Thursday - Rest

Friday - Pilates and lifting 2 hours

Saturday - Fencing tournament

Hope you are all staying warm wherever you are and have a great week!

Hi

I started working out mid November. However, It wasnt until December that I learnt the nitty grittys of working out to lose weight. Earlier, I used to listen to people who knew very little about weight loss and how difficult it is. However, after reading loads of blogs and watching innumerable health videos now I have a better idea about how to plan a weekly training session get results. (p.s I have lost 3 kgs in a month!!! I know its not a lot but I happy with any progress). Anyway here is what I have in mind for the coming week.

Monday: Strength training (lower body compound exercises)

Tuesday:High-intensity interval training

Wednesday:Strength Training (Upper body supersets)

Thursday:Recovery Day

Friday:Strength Training (Lower-body/core superset)

Saturday:Steady-state cardio

Sunday:Recovery Day

Thursday is now 1 hour private Pilates session concentrating on chair Pilates (not a regular chair - its a special weird piece of equipment) so I can use the new Pilates chair I just bought at home. Plus 2.5 hour choir rehearsal. Friday night, singing a Mass and Saturday is an hour of Pilates and an hour of weights.

I don't entirely know yet. Here's my plan, with things defaulting to yoga depending on weather and time. I've got a ridiculous amount of homework this week and I'm freaking out about whether or not I'll be able to fini**** all in time.

M: yoga at home
Tu: running, yoga stretching
W: pilates class, yoga class
Th: running, yoga stretching
F: zenga class, tai chi class, pilates class
Sa: running, yoga stretching
Su: yoga at home

Thanks! It's pretty easy when running is the only hobby you have and you don't have a social life. Plus, signing up for crazy races forces you to train. As the saying goes, don't write a check you can't cash, and I've written a few checks!
