I know i have been away from this for awhile. I have been struggling within myself. I have been getting some work out in but when the new year hit i said no mater what get back to the gym and start working out.
This week so far i have swam twice. Even got up before 5am to make it in the pool for 6. Been to the gym once but will be there tomorrow.
I am back on here. Will start posting again
Just to confirm I think you're referring to the NordicTrack FreeStride Trainer. I don't own one but my friend does and I've used it in his basement many times. It has a totally open stride so you can stretch out as much as you want rather than being constrained to the typical 18" or 20" on a regular elliptical trainer. iFit is pretty cool too. It's free for a year then you have to pay a monthly fee. But you can choose any location you want in Google maps and it's as if you are there working out. Pretty cool!
Thats awesome..my Garmin doesnt track elliptical steps very well either..

Monday - rest day
tuesday - 30 min elliptical (including 1.92M Switzerland path), 50 minute Pilates jump class
Wednesday - 40 min elliptical (including 4M Antarctica track)
thursday - 30 min elliptical (including 4.6M Galapagos track), 50 minute pilates jump class, possibly 50 minute pilates stretch class
Friday - 30 min elliptical (2M Ile Vache Marine island track), 30 minute 9 rounds boxing session
Saturday - 50 minute aerial yoga, 40 minute elliptical (4.6M eTingvillir, Iceland track)
Sunday - 40 Min elliptical - 3.5M Chamonix, France track)
I bought myself a flex strider from Nordic track in December -- the ability to see different parts of the world while working out (and have the adjustment for appropriate elevation gains/losses) is very motivating; I'm currently working my way through various parks. I find that my stride is faster than they anticipate in their timing so I just make up the remaining time to my 30-40 minute plan by doing laps and alternating elliptical striding and stair stepping). I'm adding this to my Pilates and boxing workouts.
Only disappointing thing is my fitbit doesn't count my elliptical "steps" correctly. I can log the activity time but not the true step count.

Hit the gym really hard on Sunday. Did the elliptical nd spin bike for 25 minutes, then hit the weights for legs then swam using fins and a wake board...just mostly doing kicks..first time in a while my hip feels ok..
Hope to do more this week..

The end of 2019 is approaching..as a now non drinker, New Years Eve day is spent trying to stay up and watch the ball drop then heading to bed to get up the next day to watch college football..
Started doing more cardio with an elliptical, stationary bike and still swimming. Of course, still not cleared to do any weight bearing exercises.
Hopefully soon..

I dont have amazon prime. I have trained for my first marathon FOUR times to fall apart in mile 18 of my training schedule. IT Band issues, chopping off fingers (unrelated but still wasnt allowed to run), plantar fasciatis [sic]. SO if this Brittany chick can do it, more power to her! I give her props. I remember the first time I decided i was going to run and could only do 1/2 of a block before I became winded. It as very eye opening.

My gym has something like this but it was made by Precor. I really liked it BUT you had to decide the type of stride and keep it that way all on your own power. Meaning, if I wanted to do the stairclimber aspect I had to high march. Nothing was there (mechanically or resistance wise) to stop me from converting my stride to run. If I got tired or didnt pay attention I would find myself doing the elliptical/running which was counter productive to my goal of stair climbining to improve my glutes. (|). Ok, now that I had that moment of immaturity! :) Seriously I liked the machine, but only very few people used it. At my gym about 44% gravitated towards the elliptical, with the majority of remainder going to the dreadmill and the a sprinkling towards the stairclimber. It was low impact just like the elliptical. Although I had no measurements to support this subjective observation, I found it to have LESS impact/jarring than the elliptical. Probably because there are no set tracks/hydralics forcing you to keep the predetermined stride.

It Christmas week..hope everyone is having a great holiday..
Nothing really changed for me..still going to PT 2x a week..
Swimming, elliptical, and stationary bike and incorporating more weights for my legs recently..all non weight bearing exercises..
We have started doing some "dry needling" lately..that seems to really help

Which certification are you look at getting? My wife is NASM certified and she studied for quite a while to make sure she passed.
