I started the Insanity program yesterday with the fit test and today I completed the first workout. I know people have amazing results with the program, but I'm just curious about those that have had surgery do with the program. I am 16 months post op today and still about 10 pounds away from my own personal goal. The only thing I am worried about is how much I need to be eating. Everything I have read on the websites say to increase your calories. I'm not going to lie, I am terrified to increase them too much and also trying to figure just how I am going to increase them. I still have great restriction and do not want to push that. I also plan to continue going to the gym during the 60 days of the program and lift. I have been working out consistently for a while now so I know my body is up for the added exercise.
Anyways, any thoughts, advice, experience?

Have stopped losing pounds but am losing inches!
Prepaid phone here too!! Great minds think alike. I can keep my phone bill down to about $8-9. a month...Only about 7 people have my phone number. Mine is Virgin Mobile...But it's about 30 cents a minute. No major texting and phone calls last a minute or two...
I have a small prepay phone that I keep a few hundred minutes on. No one has this # except my kids. They know I will have it on if they need me. I also have all my favorite music on it so I love carrying it and it would not be the end of the world if I dropped it.
I am gone 2 or 3 hours a day. I run the track and work out on the empty football field. I love working out outdoors. The gym is in running distance so if it is weight day I just run up the hill to the gym. Most of the time I am in areas where there are no people so I carry it with me all the time.
Hi Brian...usually if I am doing a run of 5 miles or less I don't carry it but any longer I do carry it....in terms of biking any distance over 10 I carry it...safety 1st

We asked this question a few years ago I think. I'd like some input for you newer distance people. I only ride in town for the most part. Sometimes I'll put the bike in the back of the truck and ride different routes. I'll be 61 in September. I'm also on blood thinners. Anyways, during my short rides (less than 2-3 miles each way) I don't like to carry my phone. It's my away time. If I broke down or crashed everybody has a phone now and I could get help if needed. If I go longer than 3 miles I will carry my phone...For safety reasons. So where are you on phone carrying?? Does it depend on where the ride or run is located? Thanks, Brian
Yoga increases flexibility and reduces stress. Yoga can also lower your blood pressure. Yoga is good for overall health. It is a practice which control individual mind, body and soul as well. The benefit of doing yoga is a healthy and balanced life.
Oh I just wanted to say I popped in Zumba video today, the tone and muscle building one and I'm soaked with sweat and it was so much fun, on the down side.... I found out through this experience that there is ZERO Latina blood in my body lol . Apparent by my lack of hip swinging foot coordination ! But it was fun and I enjoyed it !

Like noted by others does guidelines and suggestions for what to do to prepare for marathon and what to eat during a marathon. Eventually it's through trial and error that you find out what works for you relative to fueling during running events. In a event good luck on the road

When I first began running I used that program. Then as I started further distances like a half marathon and full marathon used a training program by Hal Higgdon. Whichever you choose good luck on the road

Sorry to say but you will need to figure out what works for your system while running that you can handle. You don't have to have weight loss surgery to have stomach issues while running. For me I started out with GU and than on day my stomach said no way and every time I tried one I needed a bathroom. Right now I use a gel that is maple syrup, sea salt and ginger which we know ginger helps settle the stomach so this is working for me. You could see if can handle Pretzels they are good for long runs. I am going to be trying to introduce them to my system as I train for my Ultra. Good luck on your training.
