I was cut up just before you were. I always priding myself on being able to get in there and do work be that at the gym or just doing things around the house. If it needed lifting, shoveling, paining, or so on I could do it. I've lost enough weight that some of that is fat and some is muscle. I'm a lot weaker that I was and that sucks. My general plan which has been voiced on here over and over is work on eating per your personal plan, do enough exercise to feel good, and wait until closer to maintenance before worrying too my about strength exercise. It's kinda disheartening in a way but I just don't have it in me to go full on right now. Could be muscle loss, carbs, less calories, or vitamin adjustments, but right now I'm concentrating on a lot of walking, and minor upper body stretching and low end weights.

The cake is a lie, but Starbucks is not.
Download Pokemon Go and get outside. That's only sort of funny because I've been walking miles and miles the last two weeks and not even thought one thought about doing it. I had to go get new shoes one night because I realized I'd lost enough weight they were too loose and all the miles I was racking up playing was causing my feet to hurt.
Bike if you really hate hot weather and have one already. If you like the idea of reading while riding or watching tv that's cool too. But they do make your butt hurt and honestly doing that stuff inside is just not as fun as walking.

You want to lose weight? Eat better. You want to feel better? Do whatever exercise you find enjoyable.

I would start with walking. People tend to get bored with stationary equipment. Plus it is so nice out why not use this good weather to exercise instead of being indoors. Plus with riding it takes time for certain parts of the body not to hurt. I have seen people give up on bikes after 10 minutes because they can not sit any longer. I love seeing people out doors and enjoying the weather. look for a walking group and meet new people. Have fun

I am doing walks, but seriously thinking about biking. I see overweight people trying to lose weight by walking, but have never seen a biker that is overweight.

Sorry I'm so late in replying. Never got the notification and I've been traveling the last week. The vest itself is virtually weightless, it's what you pack in it that has the weight. When I do long runs that are out an backs, there is usually never water so I have to carry 100+ ounces. can be a little heavy, but I really don't notice it that much. Doing loops is good for the mental game. I hate them. Too easy to quit as you pass by your car. I do like them for the fact you don't have to carry everything the whole time as you can use your car as an aid station.

I tried going back to heated pools about 5-6 months post op. One thing you may find out...You could be cold all the time. And I mean all the time. I've stopped swimming all together because of the water being too cold. It just wasn't enjoyable. You'll know in a few months whether you'll enjoy the water or not.
As I lost the weight it became harder to swim. Less fat (buoyancy) so I had to force my body (exercise) through the water...Otherwise I would sink. Brian
My doctor made me wait for the 2 months. It had nothing to do with the incision but had to do with the healing inside of you. Listen to your doctor. He is the only one that knows what went on during the operation and knows what is best
