Hi-So sorry to hear of your accident. I whole heartedly understand your frustration. I had been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease which has mad working out challenging. It has been a few weeks and I'm limited in what I can do!!! Hope for a speedy recovery for you!

I just need to vent. I am not able to train for the next two weeks. Went to the practice run on Saturday where my race will be in Oct. and took a real bad fall on the trail. Going down a very small hill and next thing I knew I was on the ground and had the wind knocked right out of me. Hurt the knee and can not walk on it. No running for me. They say because the earth was dry it makes it slippery. The shoes will just slide over the earth. not a happy camper and of course my friends who do not run or work out can not understand what I am going through. Thanks for letting me vent
Hi All,
I live in a very, very small house with not a lot of storage room. Any suggestions for a small treadmill that I can fold up and perhaps store under my bed when I'm finished using it?

I mix it up and sometimes bike, other times walk and now I can even jog again. You don't need to go to a gym or do anything special. Basic walking will do everything you need if you make the time.
I highly recommend tracking your steps on something like Fitbit or your cell phone using MyFitNessPal. If you aim for 10k steps a day, you'll be in great shape. I almost never hit this target but when I'm closer to 1 or 2k, I know it's time to get off my butt any do anything, even just walking around the block.
You should have a proper diet plan and also regular workouts. You should not starve yourself, consult a good dietitian and get a diet chart. Without controlling your food and doing exercise won't help you to lose weight. I prefer walking than biking.
Maybe try mixing it up a bit, I've seen people walk around with hand/ankle weights to help with muscle mass, but you'll have to put down the Pokemon go lol
Since I luv bikeriding & the weather is so good for it right now I ride more often outside so my gym routine that used to include weights got put in the background.
All I can suggest is maybe concentrate on cardio one day & weights the next, with maybe a rest day in between. I'm still working on that balance fitness wise.

I would concentrate more on what you're eating to lose the weight rather than the exercise. By no means I'm not saying don't exercise but you might be disappointed that the scale doesn't show your weight loss efforts.
I only say that because starting a new weight loss routine/change of exercise routine your body won't be used to it & will hold onto water weight, the scale might even..gasp..show a gain & you might get discouraged from working out, or you'll go nuts & work out even harder/longer & the body might go into a wtf are you doing to me mode.
That being said, I'd start out with walking. I bought one of those fitbit things & its really nice to reach my goals. Plus its easy to do, you can increase speed & distance as you get better.
Bike riding is really good too & is easy on the joints. I went from walking a lot to riding as much as I can outside. I've even had times while I was walking & think if I was riding I'd be there by now. lol
Bike riding at home is a back up for when it's crappy outside.

Thanks for the great advice!

Glad you found a solution Rich! Long time to be told to stay out of submerging in water, most I've seen (all, really) are only about 5-6 weeks. But, you worked and found a goal so go on and do you!
Love being in the water myself.
