Thanks. It's called the American Discovery Trial marathon. It's in Colorado Springs.

Good luck what marathon are you running next Monday?

Thank you. Glad you liked the piece. BILL
Thanks for the kind words and for the support. Yes, I am already planning two rides, 1) Portland Oregon to Seattle Washington, and 2) across Cuba. Just last week I was looking at the east coast options that now exist. There have been hundreds of miles of bike path and road routes created along the east coast. Happy to brainstorm that option also. Have you made some long distance rides? BILL
I had the same type of soreness doing things I had done before, heavier. For me, it was because I was walking different. I didn't have to carry so much weight and my gait changed, therefore the muscles I was using changed. Basically instead of the fat guy waddle, I was walking with a proper gait. It went away after a month or so of exercising.

I have read when just starting run/walk/run. I very slowly worked up to walking 12 miles before ever trying to jog 1 mile. Stick with it :)

Your hiking boots might be giving you too much support - if you're able to, go to a local running store and getting fitted for shoes.

You're doing well so keep up the good work. I only lost about 8 to 10 lbs most months but it still added up to 150lbs over time.
Remember the tortoise wins the race.
I run and bike about 4 times per week and need the days off. As I increased protein and healthy calories, I lost more weight (up to a point).
