Thanks H.a.l.a B.!
For the time being, my goal is to maintain weight(or lose a pound or two as needed). Someday down the road, I might go back to lifting weights, but I am not in a rush for that.
Just keeping a healthy active lifestyle is my goal for now. :)
Cheers,
Skotti

what is your goal? lose fat? build muscles?
if you are looking for toning and fat loss - fasting before you exercise may be great way to do it. ( I have coffee) .
I know works for me. Then 3o moin after my exercise - I had a great - loaded protein meal (shake would be fine)
but- make sure your BS does not crash when you start working out while fasting. I had to start slowly - so my body would know that it needs to burn fat.
A First few times I had to have a handy "BS fix with me" just in case... to use when my BS dropped too much ..by week 2 I did not need anything...
I used PB pr almond butter..or....i.e.- Lindt chocolate truffles - the blue ones - have just enough sugar fat and some protein to raise my BS up but not cause RH. and they are easy to carry..

Monday - rest!
Tuesday - running, yoga for stretching
Wednesday - pilates class AND yoga class (since I don't have physics class, yay vacation!)
Thursday - running, yoga for stretching
Friday - pilates yoga hybrid class, tai chi class, pilates class
Saturday - um.. so I'm already signed up for "Sky Fit" which is the fitness class at the new local indoor trampoline place. But then I realized that I also have to run on Saturday (vs. Sunday) because I have plans with a friend for Sunday which will occupy most of my day. And my weekend run is my longest run ever - 11 miles. YIKES. So I'll be doing sky fitness, running 11 miles, and then yoga for stretching. Hopefully I won't die.
Sunday - dying

i use tailwind as well...the Gels seem to sit in the stomach for awhile then they want to come back up. I live a pretty low carb lifestyle so I am thinking about trying some "fat bombs" next weekend on my long run. Are you using a camel pack?
It's been rough and a ton of experimenting. Still haven't settled on any real great solution. The biggest issue for me is eating a bunch and drinking. Just no room. Right now I'm using a mix of tailwind, nut butter, and gels. Seems to be working all right, just not real appetizing after a while.

I personally like the C25k though I'd rather call it "How to go from 0 minute of running to 30 min of running".

As for shoes: neither the most expensive shoe nor the shoe with the most support and padding is necessarily the best shoe for your feet. Go to store where they do an analysis. I had to run barefoot on the treadmill first and then with the running shoe that could have been a fit. I was recommended a light neutral shoe with a low heel drop in the end (running on 0 mm now) not one of the fancy shoes with this and that support.
Shoe replacement depends on what kind of shoe you're running in. If you're running in a shoe that provides a lot of support you need to replace it way earlier than a shoe that doesn't offer a lot of support.
What are you guys using to fuel on your longer runs? I sometimes have problems with the gels not digesting too well. I use Tailwind in my bottles but have not found much in the way of food. Thanks in advance
