Awesome! That's what I needed to hear from somebody. Just want to make sure I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing haha.

Thanks! :)

I have some beach body dvd's too...that would be a good way to mix things up. Thanks for the idea!

Topic: "30 day Shred"

I'm just a couple days away from being 8 weeks out and my doctor has cleared me for pretty much all exercise at this point so I've been doing Jilian Michaels' "30 day shred" DVD. It's got strength, cardio and ab work so I feel like it's pretty well rounded. I'd love to get into running but it's just too cold and snowy here right now. Just looking for input at this point. Is it enough exercise if I do the DVD about 3-4 times a week and then take my dogs out for 30-45 min walk everyday? The DVD is about 20-25 minutes long but it's super intense and it kicks my butt. The idea of going to a gym right now gives me horrible anxiety (not kidding) so I'd like whatever I do to be something I can do at home. Thoughts?

thanks, everybody!

You can go back and edit or add a line to your original post... click were it says 'more' and then 'edit'...

I like doing beach body videos at home...roll out of bed and do it... check it off the list. I can do more later if I want, but I know it is done...

21-day-fix is the core of what I do...also have done Cize and 22 minute hard corp

That's true! Sometimes I would rather just take a nap! I'm seriously considering a gym membership, if not for anything else, to workout and possibly meet like-minded people.

Cross fit is not a great workout for those with join issues! The trainers always say "for all exercise levels" but they cannot modify every exercise, and often forget about your limitations.

I personally like the gym. I do walk the neighborhood too, but the gym is a regular habit for me, driving to the gym makes me work out even when I do not feel like it, the neighborhood on the other hand competes too much with Netflix and Hulu.

I had a friend who went there and was very encouraging.  Honestly, I find people who do crossfit some of the most accepting and supportive I have ever found in a work out environment.  Possibly because everything is so scaleable but mostly I think no one can come in do some of the moves right away either!  Most people start working out terribly out of shape so they know what it is like and will probably just appreciate the effort you are putting into your health.  :-)
