I am just shy of 6 weeks away from the big day..... so my question is..... does anyone have any exercise tips to do at home. I can not go to the gym, because my work schedule and being a mama, do not match up with the hours they are open.

I know for the first 6 weeks, to be happy with walking and deep breathing.

after that the snow should be flying so I will get lots of snow Considering our city is #1 in snow fall. but I don't want to loose muscle, and shoveling alone is not enough

Walking is great. There are also great apps out there for exercise. I've heard good things about Sworkit and FitStar, but I haven't used either personally.

It's really a matter of figuring out what will get you moving and then, from there, figure out how to do it at home :) I run and do yoga "at home."

Consider a subscription to something like Daily Burn - fairly reasonable around $10 a month. You can tune in via the internet any time you want. There are also some amazing exercise classes and channels on YouTube. I don't know where you are starting, weight-wise, but you should be cleared by your team (absent any other medical issues) for full exercise by about 3 weeks out. I was doing an hour on a recumbent bike (slowly, but doing) five days after surgery and was cleared to swim after 2 weeks. (Just waiting for incisions to heal.) Most aerobics are OK at the start - its lifting things you need to be careful of, including your kids.

Do any of the gyms near you offer childcare programs? Our YMCA has a great childwatch room - you can use for up to 3 hours a day when you are a member and on the premises - which is plenty of time to do a class and take a shower uninterrupted! (Again, not sure how old your littles are, but I remember craving a shower in peace.)

Keep on losing!
