Weekly workouts 7.31.17-8.6.17
Morning all! I'll go ahead and get this started. I've got two weeks left to exercise, so I'll try to make them count. It's challenging, though, since I'm having a hard time finding that fine line between doing enough and doing too much! When I do too much, I then have to take naps :P
Monday: walk, yoga
Tuesday: walk, yoga
Wednesday: pilates class, yoga class
Thursday: walk, yoga
Friday: pilates/yoga class, tai chi class
Saturday: walk, yoga
Sunday: walk, yoga
I tried running for the first time since recent surgery on Saturday and it was super weird. There wasn't muscle pain so much as nerve pain? I can't really describe it. I'll add some running intervals into the walks listed about, but they'll be very short.
What's your exercise plan for the week?

Hey Knitter! What is agility training? I've only ever seen it in the context of dog training - which I'd imagine is still quite a workout for the human involved.

While I'm sure I could convince my border collie mix to join me, not the dog kind. I do agility drills and work to be lighter on my feet when I'm fencing. So working with an agility ladder you put on the floor and running in and out of the ladder. Doing kick toe touches on a bosu ball. Doing rapid step overs on an aerobics step. Doing other plyometric stuff - which aids in explosiveness of movement. My knees aren't good enough to do box jumps but I do jumps on an aerobics step, skips, lunges, and footwork drills. It is high intensity aerobic work to support my fencing training.

Aaah! Awesome! I didn't want to assume it was agility dog work, but I didn't want to assume it wasn't either since it seemed plausible :D
How long have you been fencing? My former bff did/does epee.

I started fencing in March - unintentionally - my 14 year old had 4 private lessons that were about to expire as she decided to take a fencing sabbatical. (She had been fencing about 2 years). I tried on the shoes and knickers and a foil fencer was born. (Her jacket didn't fit). Fast forward four months and I have a small ton of gear and am in the process of building my foil arsenal to compete as I need two of almost everything for competitions. I'll be in the Vet 50-59 group - training toward my first tournament in December.
I really love it. Not sure if I'm going to expand beyond foil right now, but enjoying it and the people at my fencing club immensely. Also, it's a hell of a calorie burner - I'm good for 1200-1400 calories burned in 2 hours of fencing.

I started up swimming this week. I can't believe how much harder it is without my floaty fat! I have been swimming the length of the pool, stopping to pant, then swimming back. Last night I was planning on swimming for 30 minutes but a thunder storm made them clear the pool (and I was so happy to get out!).
