Glad you are feeling you are progressing with the half Ironman. I have a ton of respect for that.

Been feeling good about how I'm fencing lately and have added a day of agility workouts to my routine because I'm feeling like my feet are too slow. it does get some strange looks at the Y.

Monday - Fencing 2 hours

Tuesday - TRX 1 hour

Wednesday - Fencing 2.5 hours - private lesson plus session

Thursday - Possible Pilates session - 1 hour

Friday - Personal trainer - 1 hour

Saturday - Agility and strength training 1.5 hours

Sunday - the Lord rested, so do I!

Keep on losing!

What sort of distances does a half ironman entail? A half marathon, I assume and then.... ? I'm in awe.

Monday: nothing since I was driving home
Tuesday: it'll depend on the weather - I might try some running intervals, otherwise just fast walking
Wednesday: pilates class, yoga class
Thursday: same as Tuesday
Friday: pilates/yoga hybrid class, tai chi class
Saturday: same as Tuesday
Sunday: yoga at home

The half ironman is a 2k swim followed by a 90k bike ride than a 1/2 marathon which is 21k.

My issue has been the bike not a strong rider and scared of falling so I have worked hard on it and have come a long way. Who knows depending on how this race goes maybe full ironman one day

You are AMAZING. I have zero interest in biking or swimming, so I have infinite respect for you.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to do the half marathon I've registered for - it's March 10, but I'm not really going to be able to start training for it until the beginning of the year. :/ I can drop it down to a 5k if I need to, but I'd like to not need to. Oh well, at least I'm getting reconstruction out of the way all at once so that I can interrupt training for six months and then be good to go forever, right? ;)

see you the training goes in jan. and if you are not ready than drop it down. You will only be upset with yourself if you do it and not ready and don't have a good run

I haven't adhered to my schedule at all this week. My abdomen is definitely "talking" to me after the exercise from the weekend, so I'm trying the "listening to my body" thing that everyone always tells me I should do. I am planning on going to Tai Chi at the least tomorrow.

Listening to your body is so important and I am so glad that you did. I know it can be a very hard thing to do but if you don't than it will be just that much longer to heal. I know

I had a pretty good week, I missed one run but still got in three!

Monday- 8 mile bike ride 2 mile walk, upper body work

Tuesday - Bike to work (14 miles)

Wednesday- 3 mile run upper body work

Thursday - bike to work

Friday - 2 mile run (first tempo run), upper body work

Saturday- construction work on a friends house so mostly lifting drywall

Sunday- 4 mile run

I had my 3 mo followup at the bariatric center on Friday. They were a little worried about my BUN/Creatinine ratio but felt it was probably just my high protein diet and dehydration at work. My NUT did suggest I up my calories to 1000 while I'm adjusting up to running and that as part of that uptick, I drink a protein shake after any hard workout where hard means I'm feeling weak and shaky afterwards (so that would be all of them LOL!) She was OK with my low carb diet but thought adding back some fresh veggies wouldn't hurt.
