Describe your exercise ability.
I love the hobbit legs comment. I'm 5'2" as well. I think my boss is about 6'2". Sometimes we have to walk across campus together for meetings. I used to REALLY struggle to keep up and was completely out of breath. Now I often lead the pace and can comfortably carry on a conversation as we walk. DH and I walk a 3 mile loop together when we can fit it in our schedule. He's only a little taller than me but has always walked very fast. I used to always have to tell him to slow down, now it's sometimes the other way around. Keep up the great work!

So maybe it's because you WANT to run? I know before I didn't want to be active. I idea of running wasn't remotely on my list. Of course the weight loss helps.
The mental game that's needed for WLS is high interest and desire for loss, I think a similarly having a high desire to do activity helps a lot.
