Thanks.  Yeah, I have a half marathon trail race on 7/30, a road full marathon on 9/5, and a trail 50k on 10/1.  The 50k is the main event.  The other two are just tune up/training runs.

the pictures area great. I wish my trail running looked as nice. Do you do all your runs along trail. I have been trying to do most of mine along trails but if the runs are real long. Like at the end of the month 3 1/2 hours I don't do the trails. I pick places to run where I know I can ge****er. What do you do for refilling your water bottles.

I try to do all my long runs on trails, and at least on other run through out the week.  Due to time, the rest are just on the flat road out the front door.  The main reason I try to do long runs on the trails is it's the only way I can get the elevation gains I need.  I run with a Salomon hydration vest.  I can carry over 120 oz. of water on me so I don't have to plan my routes to refill.  In the desert there are no water stops.  I have a little triangle route that I like to run some times where I pass back by my truck every 5 miles or so.  Those days I just carry a bottle or two and refill as necessary.

stupid question is the salomon hydration vest is it heavy.  I know I am going to be having some very long runs ahead of me and since my race is trail i like to do run the trails as much as I can but it is the water issue. My trainer also would like to see me loops once in awhile so I can get use to running the same route over and over again during a run since my 50k is is running the same trail 4 times. She wants me mentally be ready for it. She said it will be hard to stay focus. We feel it will be the third loop that will be the one to give me problems. Get though that and the 4th time will be get through this and you are done. Happy training.

Sorry I'm so late in replying.  Never got the notification and I've been traveling the last week.  The vest itself is virtually weightless, it's what you pack in it that has the weight.  When I do long runs that are out an backs, there is usually never water so I have to carry 100+ ounces.  can be a little heavy, but I really don't notice it that much.  Doing loops is good for the mental game.  I hate them.  Too easy to quit as you pass by your car.  I do like them for the fact you don't have to carry everything the whole time as you can use your car as an aid station.
