Gym or no Gym..that is the question
hey MelodyMay, for me...going for gym or doing workout is not just for losing weight. If you are going outside for the workout...at a new place, you meet new faces, you my get motivation from people working out there, there is going to be sauna or steam which you will enjoy. But, apart from all this, you will get change apart from your job/studies.
I decided i would (most likely) never join a Gym again. I like to sign up short term for fitness classes, or go to Zumba where you can pay by the class. I hate paying money if I don't go, and too much time. I also try to think long-term...is this something I can sustain or want to? The answer to the gym is no.
I have switched my routine up over my WLS journey. Swim, trampoline...Since last October I discovered Beach Body videos and fell in love with them. I do not sell them, DO not do their diets, or use shakeology....just to make it clear. Different routine everyday for a week, so I don't get bored. But the only way I will do it is if I roll out of bed and do it right away. I drink a pre-workout drink, add 16oz water to it. Do my 30 minutes and done. I have seen results. Even had 2 Plastic Surgeons tell me I had good Abs. Love the 21-day-fix. I do modify where I need to. Didn't like 21 day fix extreme. have also done 22-min hard Corp. And am considering buying Cize which is dancing....Summer is almost here so I will start swimming again.

Definitely go to the gym. Trying to exercise at home is never a good idea when there are so many distractions. I go to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. I find that it gives me a piece of mind and a lot more motivation looking at everyone else working to hard to get fit. I also have a fitbit and I love this thing. I am constantly looking at it to see if I have walked enough steps and it pushes me to keep moving even when I don't feel like it.
I've never been great at motivating myself at home either. Being in the gym really helps me. It's like once I walk through those doors my attitude changes and I'm like "Lets do this!". Give Planet Fitness a try for a couple months. We have to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone on this journey, it's all part of the process to becoming a happier, healthier us!
