Weekly Workouts 2.1.16
Now that my long runs are getting longer (8 miles on Tuesday, yikes!) I needed to reexamine my exercise schedule since I am physically incapable of running 8+ miles and lifting weights on the same day. Plus there's that whole time thing. Time and energy are, apparently, the limiting factors to my exercise life. Which is pretty awesome, since it used to be desire that was the limiter. Now, the desire is there full force :) I'm training for my first half marathon which is in September.
M: if I lifted on Sunday: yoga | if I didn't lift on Sunday: lifting
Tu: long run, stretching, meditation, balance
W: pilates class, yoga class, relaxation class
Th: short run, stretching, lifting, meditation, balance
F: pilates/yoga class, tai chi class, pilates class, meditation, balance
Sa: if Sunday weather is good: lifting | if Sunday weather is bad: short run, stretching
Su: if Sunday weather is good: short run, stretching | if Sunday weather is bad: lifting
This has me lifting 2-3 times a week, based on when I can run. (I've got Anatomy for 5 hours on Saturday, so I only have the time to run or stretch, not both. And my gym is only available on Saturday which means if the weather is bad on Sunday, I have to run on Saturday.) I also had to move my long runs to Tuesdays, since I've got more time and the treadmill I have access to on the weekends is pretty janky compared to the treadmill I have access to on Tuesdays if necessary.
This week, my plan is looking like this:
M - rest day (what's that?)
Tu - long run, yoga stretching, balance practice, meditation
W - pilates class, yoga class, relaxation class
Th - short run, yoga stretching, balance practice, meditation
F - pilates/yoga class, tai chi class, pilates class, balance practice, meditation
Sa - lifting, since the weekend weather looks fine
Su - short run, yoga stretching

M: lifted an hour, RPM class
T: same
W: I was gonna go workout but I was pooped. A student had a medical emergency in my class and I was so mentally/physically tired afterwards all I could do was sleep after school.
TR: same as M
F: Iron infusion scheduled so I won't get to workout because I need to rest after
S: depends on if I am rested up/feeling ok but if I'm ok I will lift/climb stairs
Sun: RPM/lift
