Hey everyone I have never posted before but with my surgery date only a few days away (August 11) I wanted to say hello. At this point I am having very mix feelings about it. 1 I'm very excited, and second I am very scared! I'm really excited because it's a new beginning and I have been preparing for this for over a year now. Really scared because if anything goes wrong I have two little boys to think about. I'm sure all of this is normal its just weighing on my mind. I trust my surgeon and I'm sure I'm in their hands its just you know little freaked out. for those of you who are soon to have surgery or have already had surgery can give me on some insight on how you dealt with these feelings? It would be really helpful if I knew I wasn't alone right now.

I understand being scared.  I just had my surgery.  It was so anti-climatic.  We work so hard before, that when the surgery happened, I felt like I was still doing the pre-surgery dance.  I can't believe it happened.  Statistics show a small amount of major problems.  Your kids will have a new mom who can play with them and go to amusement parks and ride bikes.  You are going to be a new person.  Think about the future and keep going forward.

I was mostly excited but began freaking out about a week before.  What if I gained weight and he wouldn't do the surgery?  What if something comes back on the EKG and they won't do it?? etc.  I think I took a Xanax daily for the week leading up to the surgery :)  Relax and try to focus on your after care like testing out protein drinks, packing your hospital bag, etc.  It'll be here before you know it!  Good luck.

P.S.  Did you mean to post this on the main forum?  Right now it's posted to the exercise and fitness board.  You might get a lot more responses on the main board.
