So.. I started Aikido last week and it was very challenging both mind and body.  Mind because I, as with every new class, felt completely uncoordinated and pathetic.  Body because OW OW OW.  I fool myself into thinking that I'm exercising every muscle possible with my regimen, and then I start something new only to find out there are still a few I've neglected.  How does that happen?  So I ended up not doing Pound or Piyo last week, so that my body wouldn't fail on me.  :P

Monday - yoga at home

Tuesday - 10k training (3 mi + strides), yoga stretching, yoga class, aikido

Wednesday - yoga class, zumba class?, personal training

Thursday - 10k training (4 mi easy), yoga stretching, pound class?, aikido

Friday - piyo class, tai chi class, pilates class

Saturday - 10k training (2 mi easy), yoga stretching

Sunday - 10k training (5 mi easy), yoga stretching

How about you?

Cancer i****ting hard in my life right now.  I have a cousin battling breast cancer, my brother in law as mentioned, a good friends mom just went into hospice care and my mom(83) is under going chemo/radiation for stomach cancer.

Hello All...

Over the weekend did my 1st 5K trail run...quite different than a road race. About 1 mile in rolled my ankle. Luckily did not completely sprain it or hurt it as I learned to tie my shoe differently. The last hole at the top of shoe is to be used to make a bunny loop then pulled through to tighten. I firmly believe this allowed me not to complete roll my ankle.

Monday-1 Hour Spin

Tuesday-3 mile run

Wednesday-1 Hour Spin

Thursdy-4 mile run

Friday-N/A heading out of town for family visit.

Have a happy healthy week...

Yours in WLS Journey,

Bill Mac

It was a great and very emotional day.  I suffered through the run after wanting to quit a few times.  I actually eneded up walking more than I was able to run.  I crossed the finish with plenty of time at 8 Hours 11 minutes.  I beat the 8:30 time on the race clock which I felt great about.
