Gwen, a brick is when you do 2 of the three parts of a triathlon back to back, usually bike and then run because it is the hardest transition. It is done so you can get used to running on "dead" legs. 

Also, yes, 70.3 is a triathlon. It is a half-ironman. You swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles for a total of 70.3. :)

Aaah, that all sounds super intense, but practicing transitions makes a lot of sense.  Good luck!

First Tri this weekend... just a super sprint, but I'm excited and nervous. :)

Monday - weights and light cardio

Tuesday - short run and zumba

Wednesday - light spin workout

Thursday - short run and zumba

Friday - weights

Saturday - rest

Sunday - Triathlon!

Good luck at your first tri!! Sprint is where I'll probably start off this year, if I can find one that isn't super expensive...

Thanks! This one is a "Super Sprint", so it is very short. 200m swim, 5.5 mile bike, and a 2 mile run. This one was really cheap ($40), so I figured it would be a good one for me to learn transitions. :)
